Sudha Murty, Wife of Infosys Founder Narayana Murthy, Joins New Syllabus Team at NCERT
Sudha Murty, a respected figure who has received the Padma Shri award, and happens to be the wife of Infosys Chairman Narayana Murthy, has landed a spot as a key member in a fresh committee set up by NCERT. Their important job? To give a makeover to school textbooks based on the updated curriculum. Sudha Murty is not alone in this mission – she’s joined by other notable folks like the music maestro Shankar Madadevan and the economist Sanjeev Sanyal, along with 16 other bright minds.
The team, known as the National Syllabus and Teaching Learning Material Committee (NSTC), is a crew of 19 individuals, led by MC Pant, who heads the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA). Their big task is to create new textbooks for students from classes 3 to 12. These books will play a big role in how we learn, and they’ll be made for use under the watchful eye of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
